I recently got married in Paphos Cyprus. We chose this destination as it has stunning venues and almost guarantees the sunshine April – October. It also provided the opportunity for our family and friends to turn the entire occasion into an amazing holiday.
Cyprus really didn’t let us down as a destination and we had 2 weeks of beautiful blue skies and highs of 25°C. There’s so much to see and do in Cyprus. For couples and adults, there were the romantic harbours and ancient ruins and for the families, there were waterparks all around the island. Our particular highlight of Cyprus was taking long strolls along the seafront in the evening down to the harbour and sitting with a cocktail in hand and watching the sunset.
Cyprus is a very family-friendly island, and there are so many trips around the island you can do as a group. We did an amazing excursion called “Surf & Turf” which is a view of the island from a Jeep safari. You get to visit national parks and the baths of Aphrodite, the goddess of love herself, followed by a calm evening soaking up the sun on a boat in the blue lagoon.
As a wedding venue, we wanted something picturesque. We wanted to capture the blue skies the beautiful sunsets and encapsulate the romance of the island as it is home to the goddess of love herself. Cyprus didn’t disappoint and ticked all our boxes and more.

We picked a 5* all-inclusive hotel with private gardens that were surrounded by palm trees and overlooked the sea. On the big day, the waves were crashing along the shore and the sun beamed down on the rose petalled aisle. The setting looked as though it was in a magazine, from flower-covered arches to sunset photoshoots the destination couldn’t have been more perfect.
Cyprus was definitely the destination for us, and we couldn’t be happier to have married on such a beautiful island.
