Although we love to spend time with and celebrate our mums and grandmothers year-round, Mother's Day is just a little reminder to let them know how much we appreciate them and to spend some quality time together. But if you've left it until the last minute to make any plans for the day, we're here to help with a few quick and easy ideas for a fun-filled day.
Afternoon Tea
An absolute classic, but it's always a lovely option for a mother-daughter activity. Either go all-out with a booking at a tearoom or restaurant, or if you want a more budget-friendly option why not buy all the ingredients to make your own special at-home afternoon tea for your mum.
Have A Movie Marathon
Another great idea on the cheaper side of things is to have a girlie movie marathon. Just get a stack of your favourite films, or maybe a few new ones (we love Bridget Jones Baby), some snacks, and settle in for a day on the sofa laughing or crying your way through a few films together.
Visit A Museum
If a little hint of culture is more your mum's or grandmother's kind of thing then why not head to a museum or art gallery? There are so many great free ones around the country that it doesn't necessarily have to be a costly activity. You can spend your afternoon bonding over your favourite painting or perusing a few ancient artifacts.
Get Outside
We don't always spend enough time just talking and catching up with our loved ones, so why not pull on your coats and go for a walk together. Whether that be a stroll by the sea or a dog walk in the woods, it's such an easy way to spend some real quality time with your mum and maybe find a few new favourite spots.
Get Pampered
Nothing says Mother's Day like a little bit of pampering. Head to the nail salon, get a blowdry or indulge in a relaxing massage. We all love being treated to a bit of pampering so why not give a little to your mum this Sunday.
